A 1894 Helmet Plate

An other ranks helmet plate of the 1894 pattern. This particular example is of the one-piece, flat variation of the 1894 helmet plate. Convex one-piece versions, as well as two-piece versions (the cypher is separate) are also known. The officers' helmet plate was in three pieces (star, cypher and laurel) with a gilt washed finish.

Regimental History of The Royal Canadian Regiment

The Permanent Force (Regular Force) element of the Royal Canadian Regiment was formed as The Infantry School Corps on 21 December 1883. Since that date, the Regiment has been involved in nearly every conflict and operation which has seen the deployment of Canadian Forces units or personnel. For more specific research, inquiries may be sent to the RCR Museum (a cost may be charged for inquiries requiring intensive searches or in support of commercial endeavours) and researchers are invited to visit the Regimental Museum and Archives.
