Col Aitchison Visits the Infantry School

Fellow Royals

June has the been the season for Changes of Command effecting The Royal Canadian Regiment. Earlier in June the Colonel of the Regiment, Col WJ Aitchison, was in Gagetown, New Brunswick adding his presence to two such events: the Infantry School Change of Command on 03 June; and the 2 RCR Change of Command on 09 June. The Infantry School Change of Command was not without personal significance for the Colonel of the Regiment. LCol DC Aitchison, the son of Col Aitchison, was relinquishing his command of the School after a very active and successful tenure of command. As most will be aware, after commanding 2 RCR from July 1983 - July 1985, Col Aitchison himself was Commandant of the Infantry School from 1985 -1987.

Below is an historic photo of the members of The RCR who are at the Infantry School and have all served under two generations of Aitchisons, Col WJ Aitchison and LCol DC Aitchison.
